A smart card can be contact or contactless, and each has different functions and purposes. MoriX Co., Ltd. first developed MoriX Card as a contact smart card with fingerprint authentication. However, the demand for contactless smart cards has risen in recent years, and our company has received many requests from different sectors, such as for contactless payment cards.

Consequently, MoriX has created and developed a prototype called MoriX Card NFC. In August 2018, we successfully launched a smart card with fingerprint authentication for practical application and at the same time, developed the first contact/contactless smart card with fingerprint authentication.

The new smart card that we have developed serves as both a contact and contactless smart card, so it can be used in a variety of fields, in addition to existing applications.

MoriX Card NFC can be used in Japan and America, where many companies use contact-based systems, as well as in Europe and Asia, where contactless systems are prevalent.
